Monday Madness: Volume 13

quote of the week:

“If you’re really listening, if you’re awake to the poignant beauty of the world, your heart breaks regularly. In fact, your heart is made to break; its purpose is to burst open again and again so that it can hold evermore wonders.”  – anon

i read this quote last week on a friend’s Facebook page. i have no idea who said it but it really hit home to me. i have often felt like i wear my heart of my sleeve too much. that i’m too sensitive and that i feel too deeply. i can cry because my feelings have been hurt and i can cry because something is so beautiful. i’ve certainly been made fun of plenty of times for crying so easily. songs, commercials, movies, a photograph. i’m certainly never been ashamed of this about myself…but until now i also didn’t necessarily view it as a strength. from now on i will.

highlights of the week(s):

* if you notice there was no monday madness last week. that’s because i was too busy trying to recover from my bout with a nasty stomach flu. ugh. it took me down for almost 5 whole days. then savannah got it. glad to say that we are both feeling better now.

* in very unexciting new i did get a brand new windshield in my car! i can now see out with no cracks 🙂 safelite did a great job and they came to my house to do the work. i’d highly recommend them to anyone.

* last week i finally posted the cutest rustic barn wedding i have just about ever seen let alone photographed. loved every minute of second shooting it!

* last week i had the pleasure of photographing the wedded bliss event at Co Co. Sala in dc. so fun to meet so many awesome dc wedding and event planners and designers! and seriously if you haven’t been to Co Co. Sala yet…go there immediately. the food and chocolate is amazing! and ask for a chocolate mojito- you won’t be disappointed. here’s a quick peek…more to come.

* we’re pug sitting for a few days and our house now has 3 pugs in it. they’re cute little buggers but…i do not want 3 more dogs permanently in my house that is for sure. i’ve been spoiled having my bear dog who doesn’t require much of any work.

* last friday i got to see the avett brothers and old crow medicine show in concert at the patriot center! it was so good!! and it was the first time in awhile that i was out of the house in the evening and it wasn’t for business.
