Monday Madness: Volume 9

it’s been awhile…a long while since i have blogged on a regular basis. as fun as it is…it really is a lot of work too. however, blogging regularly is actually on my goals list for the year and i’m taking up the task with a smile. (because i really do like it!).  so without further ado monday madness posts are back.

quote of the week:

“Some of the biggest challenges in relationships come from the fact that most people enter a relationship in order to get something: they’re trying to find someone who’s going to make them feel good. In reality, the only way a relationship will last is if you see your relationship as a place that you go to give, and not a place that you go to take.”

– Anthony Robbins

i’ve most definitely been guilty of this. it’s hard to admit…but true. we must keep perspective though…both people have to be in the relationship to give.

highlights of the week:

*i went to the bridal show at the patriot center last sunday to check out all the awesome wedding vendors. wow! it was bridal chaos!! and really i should capitalize all of that. i was completely overwhelmed and i myself am a wedding photographer so i’m aware of the industry. however i had no capacity for how a bridal show on this scale would be. all i kept thinking was that if i was overwhelmed (a person in the industry) how must all the brides and grooms be feeling? i’ve been trying to decide for awhile now if i should do a bridal show…and attending one didn’t give me too many answers. lol.

*monday was a holiday and i got to meet up with the awesome photography duo of jess and jess (better known as paired images). we chatted and caught up over big bowls of steaming pho. i highly recommend four sisters vietnamese restaurant in falls church!

*all last week i was being crafty in the evenings and crafting up a little something for my new office. i really have gotten away from my crafting endeavors in the past years…but whenever i start making something i realize how much fun it is to make something with your own hands. here is a peek…and yes it’s orange and white!

*last wednesday i posted a short little blog post about super pretty new emily ley planner. i’m continuing to love it and making it a point to use it! it’s chocked full of inspirational quotes…which i just love!! (this one is from one of the first pages)

* in general last week was full of a lot of organizing for the business and goal setting. oh and i also gave everyone a little preview of the rebranding i’m doing for my business. eeeeekkkk!!!! oh wow…so hard to contain myself.

* along with my rebrand or shall i say coinciding with my rebrand i’ve also moved my office and am in the process of completely redoing it. i posted a few little peeks at the awesomeness that is going on in here on my instagram. hello who doesn’t want an absolutely amazing watercolor of this cute little guy?? and really how could i resist this mug and coaster when i happened upon them?

* and just to embarrass  myself on this monday morning i’ll share the photo that i posted to my daughter’s Facebook page yesterday morning with some back story of course. you see savannah has a cat. a cat that feels it necessary that she eats first thing in the morning. problem with that is that savannah sleeps in on the weekends. the fatty cat known here as ptl (short for princess tiger lily) never shuts up when she wants something. well she pretty much is mouthy all day long. and when savannah isn’t awake she finds it necessary to torment me. hence my fb post to savannah and the photo.
