I LOVE weddings! Which makes sense in that I photograph them for a living and go to more weddings than the average adult. There is something so beautiful about two people coming together in love. I have to admit that I cry at just about every wedding. I am such a romantic at heart. I believe in love. I believe in honoring and taking care of another person. I believe in joining together to be stronger and to go on life’s journey together.
Ben and Julia’s Washington D.C. wedding did not disappoint and was absolutely amazing! It was so beautiful and so full of love and smiles and friendship and family. They opted to do the majority of their portraits in Meridian Hill Park in D.C. to start the day and I was there to capture their first look. It was a gorgeous May Saturday in the city and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
Julia made the walk from one side of the park to the other to meet her groom.
The back of Julia’s dress was so beautiful!Look at that smile Ben had for his bride!!! He’s one happy man.Ben…you look so happy!!!! And so dapper in that tux. Julia is one of the most beautiful effortless brides that has ever graced my camera. K. Aubrey Flowers did an amazing job on Julia’s bridal bouquet. After pictures we headed to Augusta Lutheran Church for the “I do’s”.Ben’s Grandfather played the piano at the church while all the guests were being seated. It was so beautiful and special!Potomac View Terrace at the APhA provided the most stunning view for the wedding reception!!! Seriously it was amazing. Tabitha from Robert & Co Events did an amazing job pulling the whole day together, keeping everyone on time, and making sure everything looked amazing. She’s seriously fabulous.
Does it get more beautiful in D.C. than this????? Cherry blossoms and The Lincoln Memorial in the background.
The Cake Room made the beautiful wedding cake! Little monuments on top, cherry blossoms on the sides, and the big Lincoln in the background. Love it!Ok…here’s when I cried. Ben’s thank you to his Grandfather and the story of him and Julia meeting was beautiful. First dance….a Viennese Waltz…Waves of the Danube/”The Anniversary Waltz” played by Ben’s Grandfather. Be still my heart!Love, love, love these shots of Ben and Julia and their friends!!!!
