A Pocahontas State Park Richmond Wedding
I get the amazing honor of photographing all kinds of weddings- from big to intimate from decadent and over the top to small with a more “homey” feeling. I absolutely love them all! Every couple makes their wedding decisions based on the things that are important to them. When Tim and Sarah reached out to me about photographing their Pocahontas State Park wedding in Richmond I loved hearing about what was important to them and why they chose a park in the middle of the woods. In Sarah’s words “we wanted something that felt warmer, more intimate, and more authentic.” I think that perfectly describes their wedding day!!
Read all about the wedding with Sarah’s own words from the article she wrote on The Virginia State Park blog! So awesome that she was able share all about her and Tim’s wedding day and why they chose to have a Pocahontas State Park wedding.
Sarah is from the Richmond area and got ready for her wedding day at her best friend’s parents home. She spent many a day of her adolescence in this home and it was fitting to get ready for her wedding day here. I’m so obsessed with her blush gown!!
It absolutely poured outside! It was quite fitting seeing that it was Earth day as well. The ceremony was held inside of the Swift Creek Hall instead of outside.
I love motion and emotion filled images. This totally fits the bill for both.
The rain slowed down for a bit and these two braved the rain for some portraits and adventure around the park.
We headed to the amphitheater first and it was complete magic!!! The light was absolutely stunning.Sarah ended up with a soaking wet dress and she was totally ok with it. Love her sense of adventure.Inside the reception were beautiful but simple table decorations that were fitting of the space and games! Who doesn’t love giant Jenga. There was a quite a dance party!!!! I love it when everyone wants to dance and enjoy themselves…it’s so much fun to photograph.
