Megan and Robert: River Farm at American Horticultural Society Wedding Photography

Bride and Groom Walking in Field at River Farm

Megan and Robert were married a 1 1/2 weeks ago on an absolutely gorgeous Northern Virginia Saturday. I do think they may have ended up picking one of the very hottest days this summer but the whole day was amazing and beautiful! Megan got ready with her girls at her parents home and I was there (along with my awesome assistant Jen) to capture the details. We headed outside for a few portraits and Megan braved the heat! The lace on the top of Megan’s dress was amazing.
I must have made her move 10 times for this image…because I had to get the light just right…and…WOW! Megan…you made a stunning bride.
Megan’s smile and laugh is so heart warming. She is so genuine and in shines through.
Hello amazing bouquet! I could have taken 200 pictures. The Enchanted Florist outdid themselves.
Many thanks to my second photographer Leah for taking photos of Robert and the guys getting ready.Loved Robert’s very dapper wedding attire!Off to the ceremony at St. Louis Catholic Church in Alexandria. The lighting was a little tricky inside…but I love these shots of Megan’s Dad and her at the end of the aisle. The great thing about two photographers…different angles! There was a little balcony behind the altar…and Leah helped out with that view. While I was shooting from the back of the church.Ceremony with Mass = a little extra time for creative shots. Have to love a little prism action with the stained glass.
The light came in from the skylight just perfectly to highlight Megan’s veil.LOVE this shot Leah got of Megan and Robert looking at her finger…with her wedding ring! After the ceremony we headed over to River Farm at The American Horticultural Society in Alexandria for a beautiful and fabulous celebration. The whole property is so amazing! What a fabulous wedding party!Be still my heart! Megan! And that bouquet!!!A little wind in the long veil action paired with some backlight…so pretty!Cocktail hour was so pretty in the gardens. And the prettiness continued…under the tent. And we headed back outside for a few more portraits…had to go before golden hour due to the impending storm and rain…but oh my goodness…it was amazingly beautiful! River Farm has no shortage of beautiful spots for photos. I could have taken portraits of these two all night long. There’s nothing quite like wedding photography! Especially wedding photography that includes a gorgeous Bride and Groom who so clearly love each other. Then you throw in a gorgeous background and beautiful light!!!  And AHHHHHHHHHHH. I love LOVE!!!And I love all the gardens at River Farm!My favorite image of the whole day!!!And then….everyone danced the night away!Megan and Robert – Your wedding day was amazing! Thank you for entrusting myself and my team to capture your day. Many thanks to Robert especially for smiling for yet “one more photo”! I trust you greatly enjoyed your honeymoon…now enjoy the highlights of your big day. –xoxo Amber
