Monday Madness- Valentine’s Day, Mice, & A Cat with A Bow

“If I were to live a thousand years, I would belong to you for all of them. If we were to live a thousand lives, I would want to make you mine in each one.” –Michelle Hodkin, The Evoluditon of Mara

Being that Monday was a holiday and at that a snow day here…I’m slow to getting my week started here! Ahhhhh. So my Monday has now become my Wednesday. This does not bode well for the rest of the week that is for sure!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day with their someone special! I know there are a lot of naysayers out there about Valentine’s Day. I’ve heard the grumbling about it being a “Hallmark Holiday”, that you don’t need a special day set aside to give presents and chocolate and flowers. Blah. Blah. Blah.

But let me ask you this…how many people actually take the time to buy a sweet little present for their love? How many times do you go out of your way to schedule date night, make reservations somewhere, and dress up nice? How many times do you buy a sweet (or funny) card and write a little love note in it?

I think we should do these things all the time…but life does seem to ges in the way. So I think holidays like Valentine’s Day are just a really nice little reminder for us to stop and take time for our love. To be thoughtful and intentional. To remind ourselves and those we love that we in fact really do love and appreciate them! That we are so very happy to have them in our lives.

Highlights of my week:

  • Duh! Valentine’s Day!!! My Valentine and I spend a nice day together with some family time and cuddling then we went out to an amazing dinner at Rowland in the Heart of RVA’s Fan. All  yum with a great atmosphere. I also got some really tasty chocolates from For The Love of Chocolate (which were gone by the next day), an awesome blue orchid plant, and the coolest necklace ever!! Oh my!! I’ll have to post a picture of it’s awesomeness it’s just so cool and so me.
  • Last week was the first full week of my separated Instagram accounts with weddings and seniors and I’m absolutely loving how each of them looks separate from the other.
  • Tax time has struck again and I’m up to my ears in receipts and statements and spreadsheets and headaches!
  • Two mice decided to inhabit my house last week and well…not such a smart move on their behalf. Aggie The Cat has proven to be quite the mouser!!! She doesn’t give up and will sit for hours and wait for them to come out. I found her this morning with one little lifeless guy between her paws on the beige carpet. Yuck!
  • I’m excited that my shows are back on! Grey’s and Scandal were my must do’s on Thursday.
  • School is back in session and I am back to teaching again. Wednesday nights this time around and a new group of people eager to learn all about photography! I must say I really enjoy teaching.

Here’s to hoping you have a wonderful Wednesday and rest of your week. Me…I’m headed straight to the coffee now!

Oh…and here are a couple images from my Valentine’s shoot on Saturday…Aggie The Cat decided to participate!!
