Monday Madness: Volume 19

Quote of the Week:

“Photography for me is not looking, it’s feeling. If you can’t feel what you’re looking at, then you’re never going to get others to feel anything when they look at your pictures.” –Don McCullin

I think perhaps what I love about photography the most is the feeling. Whether it’s taking photos or looking at photos. If I can feel it then I’m all in, I’m invested. At times I’ve thought my emotionalness is a weakness…but when it comes to taking photos that part of me is a huge strength.

I cry when others cry, I smile when others smile and laugh…and I’m there capturing all of that. The way a groom touches his new wife’s arm is so touching. The way a father of the bride smiles as his little girl and dances with her with a tear rolling down his cheek. The way a bride smiles to herself as she catches a look at her handsome new husband. Such beautiful moments that are fleeting. I feel each and every one of them and I capture them.

Highlights of the Week:

* Quite obviously the biggest news of last week as my new kitten babies!!! They are the cutest little guys ever and I’m blowing up Facebook and Instagram with them. For the next few weeks (like 6) there will be weekly blog posts too. You can never has too many cute kitten photos or videos. I just love the way the little guys are so happy to eat. And the little tiger striped guy Archie is so sweet and loving. He’s also the runt and probably the favorite.

* In equally exciting but not good news I had another creature visit my house. OMG!!!!! Totally freaked me out. The snake quite literally fell from the garage door when it was going up. #rainingsnakes #notgood There really aren’t enough negative comments I can make on this.

* I started working out again last week. The joke is completely on me for it taking me so long to get back into the gym. Needless to say at Saturday’s wedding I kind of looked like someone who either had severe Arthritis or was recovering from some kind of illness. Every time I bent over or squatted down it was all I could do to get back upright. Week #2 of trying to get back in shape. We will see how it goes.

* Still waiting to receive all my new printed collateral for my new branding. My site can’t go live until I have business cards and such in my hands and the process is taking forever. Needless to say I’m waiting not patiently. lol.

* Want to watch a terrific but sad movie? Then head on over to Netflix and watch Now is Good. It stars Dakota Fanning as a teenager who is dying from cancer. Yes I told you it was sad! Double sad if you have a child who’s had cancer. Needless to say I bawled my brains out as I fed kittens this morning at 6 am and watched it.

* Yesterday I had an amazing engagement session with Julia and Jason. They are a seriously awesome couple and I can’t wait to share all of their fun session. But for now…here is a peek. Happy Monday!!!
