Monday Madness: A Busy Slow Season, Styled Shoots, & Spring is Coming!

Wedding stationary at Greenhill Vineyard

I keep reminding myself that this is supposed to be slow season. The time of year that I have all the time in the world to google “best vacation spots”, look up funny cat videos, plan to plan on starting a workout routine, pin 1,000 recipes and actually cook 5 of them, etc. But here I am looking at my calendar and I’m finding it difficult to find a free morning to have coffee with a friend or to actually write a blog post. (Truthfully I think I’m really good at wasting time and not so great at time management. Oops!) It’s been a busy slow season.

I have been doing a lot more networking and making new friends as I transition my business to the Richmond area. So I have had a lot of meet ups and have been working very hard on the business side of the business. Which seriously…is the least fun part. I mean I want to shoot pretty pictures every day!

There have been a few fabulous styled shoots. Here’s a super sneak peek at a shoot last week at Greenhill Winery & Vineyards. Florals by Good Earth Flowers, and event  planning by Events by Alex.  Can’t wait to share more from this amazingness.

Wedding stationary at Greenhill VineyardHighlights & happenings:

  • I’ve toured Seven Springs venue last week and it is simply stunning! I’m head over heels for it and would love, love, love to book a wedding there. I also may have a styled shoot I’m working on there for summer time.
  • I attended a little Pinterest workshop last week and I’m blown away by all that Pinterest does that I’ve been in the dark about & how it can help your business. I’m just all…”lets pin a new recipe and new paint options for the bedroom”. Fun to learn new ways to engage potential clients and get people to find me.
  • Savannah had her wisdom teeth extracted last week and she’s been a swollen sad panda. Not much I have been able to do for her short of making her soup but I feel bad. I have been trying to make her laugh. My nickname has been “Alvina” like Alvin in the chipmunks but a girl version. She doesn’t think I’m as funny as I think I am.
  • I’m over the moon excited about the warmer weather! I need Spring like Barbie needs her pink jeep. Come to me!!!!!! And in the spirit of loving spring and spring flowers and love…here’s a picture of Sam and Dan last spring. I love this one so much.

  1. Can’t wait to see the images from the winery! And hope Savannah’s feeling better soon. Dental work is the worst!
